As far as music is concerned...

The third CD in the series SONGS FOR THE INNER CHILD is now available -- 40 settings to poems by Walter de la Mare, one of England's great poets of the late 1800s and first half of the 1900s. Originally there were to be 54 songs, but because of a time constraint, the number was reduced to 40. The good news is that the remaining songs (of which 7 have already been recorded by Kathleen Johnson) and maybe a few additional ones yet to be composed, will be made into a separate CD at a future occasion.

Recording has started on the fourth CD in the series. The songs this time are settings of poems penned by Edward Lear. Members of the the Aomezeyck Ensemble are providing the instrumental talent. The composer, once again, is singing the songs himself.

As far as literature is concerned...

If you are interested in finding out what commercial airline flying was like in the 1930s, you may want to read Sjef Frenken's translation of his father's memories of being a pilot on what was then the world's longest airline route - from Amsterdam to what is now Jakarta. That trip could take up to 11 days (one way) in the Fokker airplanes of the times. The book is illustrated with more than 60 photos. Check under the rubric WRITINGS.

(This may not be an item of great importance to most of the world's inhabitants, but it may have some significance for people who knew the late Brendan Emmett Foley, a fine fellow who graduated from Loyola College in Montreal in 1959. Brendan was, among other things, a poet.) In any event, the news is that his poems have been collected and edited by Sjef Frenken, and printed under the title LOVE WAS LIGHT. For more information, take a look under WRITINGS on this website. And if you can't wait to have a copy, go directly to ORDER. [This book is currently sold out. If you’d like to be put on the list for a second edition, whenever that becomes available, Please e-mail us .]
